🌟 Advocate | Educator | Changemaker 🌟 Hi, I’m Peter Floriano Borges! With a passion for social work and a drive to make a difference, I wear many hats—Assistant Professor of Social Work at Goa University, Founder of the Human Touch Foundation, and former Chairperson of the Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights. For over two decades, I’ve been diving deep into child and youth welfare, public health, and social justice, pushing boundaries and sparking change. 🚀 Founder of the Human Touch Foundation In 2009, I set out on a mission to address global health and human rights issues head-on. The Human Touch Foundation became my platform to champion causes like HIV, sexual health, and drug abuse. Partnering with UNAIDS, UNICEF, and UNFPA, I've been on the frontlines, advocating for those who need it most. 🛡️ Championing Child Protection During my tenure as Chairperson of the Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, I fought for transformative legislative reforms—the Right to Education Act (RTE), Juvenile Justice Act (2015), and the POCSO Act (2012). From pulling down inappropriate ads to empowering schools with anti-drug Prahari clubs, I’ve been all about action, not just words. 🖋 Voice for Social Change When I'm not in the classroom or the field, I’m behind the pen, offering insights and sparking conversations on social justice, cultural shifts, and public policy. My commentaries in Goan dailies aren't just articles—they're calls to action. 🏆 Recognized & Awarded Awards like the MTV Staying Alive Award, Youth Icon Award (2019), and Karmaveer Chakra Award remind me that change is possible. They fuel my mission to create a more just, compassionate world where every voice matters. Let’s connect and explore how we can drive social change together!
