Responsibilities: - Translating clinical user needs into technical requirements and solutions, where the technical system typically combines software, mechanical components, and electronics. -Defining the strategy to realize solutions with a team and external partners considering quality measures and business constraints. - Providing technical leadership of SW & HW engineers for complex projects including addressing the requirements of various stakeholders utilizing agile project management. - Designing software architecture considering time-to-market, reusability, maintainability, scalability for the targeted solution on the targeted clinical platform. - Implementing software solutions using C++, Qt, QML, Matlab, and Unity on various platforms for clinical computer-aided systems, robots, and headsets. - Developing algorithms in the fields of image processing, camera calibration, video processing, photogrammetry and statistical modeling. - Developing an internal tool to efficiently convert and verify implant CAD data into a database that is used in robotic and image guidance applications - Collaboration with UX designers to apply human centered design principles to medical device solutions. - Applying and maintaining deep clinical knowledge in orthopedic joint replacement, spine surgery, neurosurgery, medical imaging (DICOM, CT/MRI, ultrasound), robotics and navigation systems. - Proving viability of concepts in clinical and cadaveric lab settings using dedicated evidence engineering strategies in close collaboration with clinical partners. - Applying statistical methods to evaluate clinical studies - Onboarding and mentorship of engineers in software engineering and technical project management
