Manage the procurement and supply chain of SIM cards, SIM Packs, Prepaid Scratch Cards, Routers, Enterprise Links and Mobile Handset for MTN Zambia including forecasting, planning and liaison with stakeholders. Implementation and continuous improvement of a the category strategy for MTN Zambia with focus on quality and cost savings for the company, taking cognizance of commercial and technical consideration To be accountable and responsible for the implementation and development of logistics strategies including customs clearing and forwarding activities to ensure uninterrupted supply of products to ensure timely distribution of stock/materials and implementation of network projects.
Purpose of job: To be accountable and responsible for the implementation of activities in the Consumer Products Sourcing portfolio and Customs clearance to ensure uninterrupted supply of consumer products and imports and distribution of stock/materials Responsibilities: o Market Research / Intelligence on Devices – Smartphones and Ultra Low Cost Handsets with Group Procurement and directly with local device manufacturers/representatives o Demand Forecasting with Group for volume purchasing of Sim Cards and Scratch Cards o In liaison with Marketing and Sales staff review Market trends of sales both customers and distributors o In liaison with Sales staff set stock levels and monitor quantities on the shelf and in the distribution channel o Also working closely with Marketing and other Business Unit teams to develop and understand the device range strategy o Own and maintain the device strategy o Creates & issues purchase orders for all consumer related requirements o Issues all Import Purchase Orders and tracks through to clearing and delivery to Central Warehouse o Manages the performance of customs clearing agent and relationship with Customs Authorities o Execute plans to ensure sourcing savings, following clear guidelines provided by the Senior Manager Procurement & Logistics. o Ongoing management of commercial relationships with vendors, including review and analysis of supplier performance, ensuring effectiveness of suppliers to ensure contract KPI's are achieved. o Conduct duties in line with MTNZ budget, policies, procedures and processes o Timely preparation of payment schedules to clearing agents o Maintenance of the Type Approval Register for Devices Participate in the evaluation of tenders both locally and at Group Level o Participate in the development of specifications for services, equipment, products, supplies or substitute materials. o Maintaining vendor list of prospective contractors and materials/new products for consumer
Purpose of job: Supervise and Develop Warehouse Staff for Effective and Efficient management of all operations including ensuring safety and implementation of best practices in the warehouse Responsibilities: o Supply and Demand forecasting o Inventory Management from receipt through to Disposal o Stock security and availability at Airtel Warehouse o Warehouse operations cost control o Assist in designing warehouse processes, procedure and service level agreements o Supervise activities and close all pending issues in the ERP system (oracle-inventory and order management module) o Subordinates effectiveness (span of control 5) o Presentation of reports for Key management decisions
