About

I am a Lecturer in Healthcare Technology and a Research Fellow in Rehabilitation Robotics, based at the Aspire CREATe Lab at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Stanmore). My main interests involve developing and running studies using robotics and virtual reality to support people experiencing pain. My PhD focused on the clinical feasibility of rehabilitation robotics and virtual reality, during which I created a first‑in‑human system and implemented a study to support upper‑limb amputees experiencing phantom limb pain. This work is currently being expanded to address other upper‑ and lower‑limb pathologies, both within the UK and internationally. In addition, I have translated rehabilitation research into applications for surgical and medical simulation, conducting usability studies and delivering a unique module that teaches non‑technical students how to create virtual reality and robotic simulations for surgical and medical training. Alongside my current work, I have active collaborations in Japan and Taiwan focusing on telerehabilitation and is completing an Executive MBA in Health at UCL, with a focus on health economics applied to technology and rehabilitation. I currently serve as Chair of the IET’s Healthcare Technologies Technical Network Executive Committee.
