Peter is a very experienced senior management executive & entrepreneur (2 successful startups – 1 for Reuters Asia; the other, a co-founder of an Asian-based Marcom company), who still wants to contribute & share his vast management work experience - including working in many countries throughout Asia, and managing many levels/layers of staff in multiple cities/countries - with any companies who may benefit with what he can bring to the table. He is currently assisting an Executive Search company and is a Management Consultant at Snowball Global, but is also open to new opportunities. He is also a trusted and experienced general management practitioner who has managed sales & marketing teams & entire companies, both in Singapore (SEA) & China; and is currently at Snowball Global Pte Ltd as Management Consultant; and Talon Executive Search Pte Ltd, as Executive Director & “Headhunter” - a leading Executive Search company, specializing in the Financial Services industry (FSI), IT, Marketing Communications, Manufacturing & Sustainability/Green industries. He is a highly committed, sales & results-oriented person with deep experiences in the following sectors - executive search, computer systems, financial software solutions, financial information, marketing communications. His management know-how extends to the Private Equity space in the data centre, satellite communications & luxury yacht industries. He has mentored many younger colleagues who are today very successful in their career paths. **he was also part of a team (under the aegis of Reuters AP in 1998), tasked to research & provide a strategy/execution plan for Reuters China in the non-core Financial Info business, which led to a new start-up. and he was seconded over there, as Employee No. 1, by the Reuters AP’s Managing Director. He is a multi-tasker & a very hands-on person and managed large groups of people (60+ in Reuters China; 150+ in ICG China - marcom) and has built some of these teams from ground-up. He has been described as “highly driven” – particularly when it comes to securing new business and fulfilling the needs of clients – and “entrepreneurial”. Extroverted personality with good interpersonal & presentation skills, he can be described as "people's" person. Peter graduated from the National University of Singapore with a BSc of Arts in Political Science & Statistics in 1989. He also attended an Executive Leadership course at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, in 2000.
Peter started off with Abbingdon Music Research (AMR - a UK-headquartered Consumer Electronics (audio products) company in 2023 as a Strategic Consultant. However, as AMR needed more senior & experienced executives - he "slotted-in" as Director of Sales for APAC & EU regions. As the main offices with substantial staff are in UK & China (office/factory) - recently, he has been made General Manager (while still retaining his Sales Mgt function), to ensure that operations, processes & communications between the 2 offices are more efficient & effective; and how it will also benefit our customers . He is also now focused in revamping organisational structure, processes to ensure that AMR (as a company), as it rolls out new brands, is kept competitive.
Peter is mainly responsible for matching TALENT between candidates wanting to move on to the next phase of their careers, and the companies in the Financial Services industry (FSI), IT, Marketing Communications, Manufacturing, and Sustainability/Green industries. He will bring to bear, all his years of executive and management-level experience in the IT, Financial Information/Software, Marketing Communications and Private Equity, and his contacts in these networks - to advise both the candidates & the hiring companies on the best possible match-up. He will guide & work with the shortlisted candidates on the interviewing skills needed, the hiring companies' expectations and other pertinent actions - in order to ensure a seamless interview process for the best possible success outcomes. Talon Executive Search Pte Ltd (TXS) is a niche executive search firm focusing on recruiting professionals and executives for trading houses and banks involved in various roles of relationship management/marketing and support functions such as middle office and back office in the areas of traditional and structured trade and commodity finance and transaction banking.
Peter provides management support & consultancy to companies & their top management teams, in the form of strategic consultancy (business planning, project planning, budget planning, etc) in various aspects of the companies' operations & management practices. If and when necessary, he can also provide in-person/on-site executive services when the companies' are short of executive/top management resources, on a temporary basis.
Peter is responsible for ALL sales & marketing activities within Vistron. He has 5 direct sales reports & work with many more external partners (especially overseas) to leverage-off their networks to increase sales volume & to enter into new vertical markets. He has helped forge new partnerships (both up-stream principals & down-stream partners) to ensure that Vistron has a steady supply of innovative solutions to market, as well as to assist partners in penetrating their target industries. He is also instrumental in identifying new ways to "extend" the monetising envelope of the current AV/MM business, and is in the midst of executing this plan. This PLAN includes creating new services & finding new markets (both vertical & geographical markets). He is also responsible for all marketing & communications activities in Vistron. Vistron Pte Ltd is a Singapore-based and leading commercial Audio-Visual (AV) and Multi-media (MM) System Integrator & solutions provider in the Southeast Asia region. We have operations in Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, and partnerships in Indonesia and the Philippines. From these 5 locations, we can support the rest of Southeast Asia. Director (Daun Consulting) - is a boutique private equity firm that does strategic investments into mainly infrastructural projects such as building data centres, satellite communications & luxury motor yachts. Peter's main responsibilities ran the gamut from initial fact-finding of the potential investment projects; to due diligence; to recommendation of investment; to eventual secondment at various functions & general management levels to some of these projects. He was the Co-CEO of AWAN Data Centre, who is in the midst of building a world-class Tier 4 (highest ranking of data centres) data centre in Singapore. His responsibilities include liaising & obtaining the various building permits from the relevant government departments, working with a team of technical consultants & vendors/suppliers to the project, overseeing the actual build-up of the data centre building, and business development (working with global brands, to take-up space in the data centre). NewSat Limited, a leading satellite communications company in Australia, is planning to launch their 1st Ka-band commercial satellite in 2016. His role here is to assist business development in conjunction with NewSat's Head of Sales, especially for the Asia-Pacific region. Secondly, he plays a pivotal role in helping NewSat to strategize & find special projects which will harness NewSat's strength and ensure healthy partnerships & joint ventures for the future. He was handling a special project with a state-owned satellite services company in north-eastern China (where his Mandarin-speaking abilities & many years in China, were used to good effect), which when combined with NewSat's satellite technology, will enable them to "push" the envelope in delivering cutting-edge data & video services into the marketplace.
