I currently lead the Finance Branch at The University of Adelaide in the Australian Higher Education sector. My skills and experience are complemented by a philosophy of building high performing teams in a continuous improvement culture and providing structure and clarity around operational and strategic decisions. I have been involved in numerous change management initiatives including implementations of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, the re-engineering of organisation-wide systems and processes and the alignment of organisational capabilities and structures. The COO is responsible for leading the Division of University Operations and the delivery of core enabling functions for the University. Included in the portfolio are Human Resources, Infrastructure, Legal Services, Integrity Unit, Information Technology, Planning & Analytics, Finance, Legal Services, Risk Services, Sustainability and the Project Management Office The COO is a member of the Vice-Chancellor Group and Chair of the Planning & Budgeting Committee, Capital Development Committee, and Major Projects Committee. As a management representative, the COO attends meetings of the University Council, Risk Committee, People and Culture Committee, and Finance Committee.
Innovation & Commercial Partners Pty Ltd (ICP) is a wholly owned entity of the University of Adelaide. ICP supports and manages equity investments in 'early stage' start-up and spinout companies, for the benefit of the University of Adelaide.
The CFO is responsible for strategic procurement services, financial management, management accounting & reporting and finance transaction support services to the University and its controlled entities. The role is responsible for the oversight of the University's $1 billion annual operating budget, $100M capital budget, $400 million investment portfolio and $2.3 billion asset base. The CFO is a member of the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive and the Planning & Budgeting Committee and attends meetings of the University Council and Finance Committee as a management representative.

It is responsible for the accreditation of subjects, the recognition of learning, and the assessment of student learning that contribute to meeting the completion requirements of the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).
UniSA has a turnover of over $700 million, Total Assets of $2 billion, 38,000 students over 5,000 employees which equates to approximately 2,800 FTE. The central Finance Unit of the University that I led has approximately 100 staff members (80 FTE) and manages: Financial and Management Reporting, Operational Finance, Corporate Finance and Treasury, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, Corporate Credit Cards, Procurement, Travel, Insurance, Student Load Planning, international and domestic tax, commercial support and financial information systems. The Finance Unit has deliverd a number of key initiatives for the University including: • Full re-implementation and reconfiguration of the University’s enterprise finance system (TechnologyOne Financials) • Re-engineering of all major finance processes • Implementation of the University’s budget framework, incorporating Gross Revenue and Net Result • Implementation of Activity Based Costing for Courses and Programs • Development of an University-wide integrated Budgeting and Forecast system • Designed, developed and implemented a new integrated research project budgeting and billing system • Led the financial due diligence for the 2018 merger discussions with The University of Adelaide

The South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre Limited (SATAC) is incorporated as a company limited by guarantee under the Corporations Act 2001 (cth). SATAC processes applications for many of the courses offered by participating institutions - TAFE SA, the three universities in South Australia (Flinders University, The University of Adelaide and University of South Australia) and Charles Darwin University in the Northern Territory. SATAC assesses the academic and non-academic qualifications presented by applicants, and ranks eligible applicants in merit order for each course according to the rules and guidelines provided by the institutions. SATAC generates offers based on the number of applicants required to fill each course, as set by the institutions, and act as a 'one-stop-shop' for enquiries about the outcomes of applications. SATAC also administers the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) for applicants applying for undergraduate courses under a special entry program.
