      After first being assigned as one of the first Enterprise Architects ever within Fortis Bank, I was now assigned as one of the first Enterprise Data Architects within ABN AMRO. I worked and work on several Data-oriented Future State Architectures and Architectural Standards, directing and instructing all architects within the bank the way of working regarding data related topics. Examples are the FSA Metadata Management, the FSA Reference & Master data Management, and some Data Modelling related Standards about the (NoSQL) types of Data Models, their positioning and associations. Exploring new Data features and trends in the outside world and evaluating its potential value for the Bank is required to be able to deliver these architectures. Since 2022 I focus more on Data Integration, and also joined the DAMA NL Workgroup Data mesh.

      In this period I was involved in several kind of Data Management activities: In the complete period I was the Data Administrator responsible for maintaining the SPRINT/WPO datamodel, containing all persistent data for the VSB/Fortis Retail Bank NL. In 1997 I worked on the realisation of a BancAssurance Corporate Data Model (combination of the AMEV and VSB Bank logical data models); realized but never implemented because of the Fortis Banking integration (after Mees Pierson joined Fortis). In 2004 I founded and chaired the Fortis Data Mgt Circle (with participants from BE and LU) to align Data Management Principles, Standards and (leading) Data Structures to enable the International integration. From 1998 until 2008 I was involved in several kinds of Data Mgt. oriented activities together with the Mees Pierson Data Administrators.
