As an independent consultant, I have provided coordination and management services of various stakeholders and interfaces including aspects of regulatory permitting and approvals, real estate/land use issues, environmental impacts, public safety risk and stakeholder issues. During my career with Ontario Power Generation - Operations, I was extensively involved with water management, hydroelectric generation, switching and bulk distribution of electricity. I hold significant expertise in the management and control of hydropower resources on the Niagara River, including project oversight, regulatory compliance and ice management. I have experience in electrical power switching operations, power system operation and generator controls. I have undertaken the development and oversight of individual projects (mechanical, electrical, civil and IT), established budget/goals/targets, completed alignment of stakeholder requirements and provided deliverables on-time. I have also been responsible for budget monitoring and reporting, both internally and to external stakeholders. My specific specialties include: stakeholder interface relations, water management, control and utilization, river flow forecasting and predictive flow assessment, water diversion scheduling for electricity market participants within the Province of Ontario and State of New York, oversight and development of ice management practices. Operated Niagara River Control Centre to comply with regulatory requirements specified in Niagara Treaty of 1950, INBC and INC directives. Developed and implemented diversion schedules for OPG and NYPA Niagara power generation resources for bidding into Ontario and New York real time markets. Provided forecast of Niagara River water flows to OPG and NYPA operations clients for period of 3hr to 5 days in future. Provided ice management for ice control on the upper/lower Niagara River.
