    As a graduation project, the production process of wood wool panels was investigated and analyzed for waste. Business Intelligence is used as a theoretical framework to realize a methodology in which automated data is collected to make KPIs transparent and to allow a structural approach to waste. The result has been implementation advice, with a realization for the automated collection and processing of data into relevant control information. All this with the help of an OSI-PI software package. Tools to enable real-time insight and analysis afterwards have been PI-Processbook and PI-Datalink. Ultimately, an advice was provided on organizational structure, culture and follow-up processes to stimulate development of Business Intelligence for middle management. In addition to the activities related to the assignment, leadership has been taken and support provided to improve the process, insight into the process and operation of the process. This to make collected data reliable, but also to reduce waste immediately. Activities performed can be subdivided into realization, support, delegation and advice.
