Co-facilitated IT strategy planning session for incoming CIO of a large medical center and his leadership team, culminating in an actionable 180 day plan. Co-led assessment of technology capabilities and organizational IT execution for a health plan, resulting in a detailed roadmap of potential investments of $11 - $18M during the following 18 months. Co-led in-depth follow-up briefings to CEO, incoming CIO, and overall Executive Committee, which led to follow-on engagements. Created and led team to support IT leader and his deputy in merging two organizations and their operations with $800M combined spend, transferring assets into an enterprise-wide application portfolio and creating an executable strategic plan, along with addressing special projects and emerging needs to mature the new division. Stood up and led teams supporting the consolidation of 5 separate IT organizations into one $2.2B IT directorate, reengineering processes and transforming operations into enterprise-wide shared services, achieving 10% savings off of its current cost baseline, and implementing a new electronic health record supporting 9.5 million beneficiaries. Supported the creation and implementation of IT governance and requirements management processes, the implementation of Serena Dimensions RM and Serena Business Manager to support these processes, and the training of personnel in these processes and tools. Led and contributed to internal account and sector business development efforts, led work streams in internal IT communities of practice, and staffed, mentored, counseled, and trained practitioners in the US and EMEA.
Managed the planning, design, testing, data migration, and implementation of Serena Dimensions RM as the requirements management tool of record replacing IBM DOORS. Led the development and execution of projects related to reengineering requirements management and governance processes for IT systems and a new electronic health record, implementing data orchestration and workflow management tools as part of an overall Application Lifecycle Management framework, and the delivery of requirements management and electronic health record training.
Led the implementation of Serena Dimensions RM for 75 IT systems, performed day-to-day management of the tool as the user base grew, conducted end-user training and refined the requirements management process, and planned for upgrades and modifications to the software to satisfy client needs. Collected and analyzed Oracle license usage across the enterprise, and provided detailed reporting to client leadership to drive more efficient Oracle license spend. Assisted in the management of day-to-day operations of an enterprise-wide, global budgeting system and its associated help desk, and assisted in the software development, information assurance, and maintenance of this system.
