After spending ten years working in finance, I founded Harmony Energy in 2010. I have over 16 years’ experience in the renewable energy sector, in financing and development. We successfully floated Harmony Energy Income Trust on the London Stock Exchange in November 2021.
I founded the business in 2010 and by 2015 we had developed, built, owned, and operated 15 wind sites in the UK. The wind portfolio was sold to Blackfinch Investments in December 2019 having also been debt funded by USS. In 2016 I set up the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) side of the business with Alex Thornton and Pete Grogan. I established an early relationship with Tesla, leading to a partnership with FRV to develop our initial BESS sites. This included Tesla’s first Megapack system in Europe. In total, I have overseen the development of over 500MW of BESS in Harmony group in the UK to date. We have transacted with other major renewable energy operators, including SSE (on BESS), BayWa r.e (BESS and Solar) and TagEnergy (BESS). Our most recent success was the IPO of Harmony Energy Income Trust (HEIT) on the London Stock Exchange in November 2021.
Jones Food Company is Europe’s largest Hydrophonics facility, with bases in Scunthorpe, Bristol and Lydney. As an early stage investor and board director, I helped secure Ocado Plc to invest in the business in 2019.
While working as a consultant, I specialised in investments, including wind farms and enterprise zones, in addition to more traditional financial planning areas such as personal tax planning. I advised multiple High Net Worth clients, of which five backed Harmony Energy Ltd at the outset alongside Pantheon CEO and founder, James Kaberry. I was the youngest shareholder in the business.
