Operation and Maintenance of hospital equipment
Providing support to ensure safe operation and maintenance of buildings, electrical, air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment, fire system, medical gas, boilers and other mechanical services at the Perth campus of Royal Perth Hospital. Investigating faults and recommending technical solutions as well as taking corrective action on existing plant and systems. Organising and directing resources to complete the corrective action within a stipulated period. Coordinating and managing external service providers and in- house trade staff to carry out breakdown work as well as routine maintenance work. Managing external service providers by preparing routine maintenance schedule and also carrying out periodic inspection to ensure that quality standard of work is completed according to Australian standards. Implementing “Best Practice” procedures like JSA, safety standard and also ensuring that external service providers have undergone induction training and hold relevant licence/s to carry out the assigned work. Providing input to senior management, hospital staff and key stakeholders on a range of issues that relate to the maintenance, operation of equipment, plant and systems. o For example, I recently suggested the adoption for the provision of a ring main unit instead of bringing separate power line from the main sources which would avoid power outage. This was adopted. Obtaining quotes from contractors for various jobs- repair work as well as new replacement installations and subsequent follow up through to completion.
• Preparing client quote and tender documentation for key accounts and turn key projects. • Preparation of resources, labour and budget documentation, procurement, scheduling, EH&S, permit systems, JSA and carry out the project as per ISO standards. • Control of all materials and equipment purchasing and control processes. • Preparation of detailed management reports. • Development of a higher level of service in accordance with relevant legislative documents and maintaining ISO standards. • Building and maintaining positive relationships with key clients and stakeholders, by effectively managing expectations and resolving escalated issues. • Good networking skills, forging concrete rapport with clients, internal subcontractors and all concerned to ensure smooth project execution and successful completion. • Preparing method statement / Scope of work and estimating cost and human resources for completing a task. • Supporting the site’s on-going operations and providing technical expertise. • Reporting directly to the Contracts Manager, various meetings and Forums on a regular basis. • Managing the project from initiation, documentation and to implementation. • Working with Contract Managers to determine scope of work and help with coordination efforts with clients, consultants and Government officials. • Providing direction to Junior Engineers, designers and drafters. Keep the project within budget, size and scope. • Preparing valuation of the projects, ordering equipments, scheduling technicians, testing and commissioning.

Technician technically. • Checking and attesting material requisition prepared by supervisors on a daily basis. • Checking and attesting purchase orders for procuring materials. • Conducted training for technicians to improve safety awareness among all employees of the department. • Preparation of annual report of Maintenance department. • Forwarding the job completion document to the department for review. • Testing and commissioning of new projects. • Visiting site and checking the performance of equipments. • Preparing for Annual maintenance contract terms and conditions and specification. • Negotiation with the contractor to bring down the price at par with department rate. •
