Student at the Georgia Institute of Technology studying Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering. Coordinated design-build procedures including document control, sending submittals, and drafting RFIs to both the project owner and design engineer. Met with inspectors to locate and solve unexpected field conditions. Diagnosed and documented deficient steel and pin/bearing connections. Took field measurements and worked with design engineers, labor, and project management on the the constructibility of large-scale steel upgrades. Successfully installed Kistler weigh-in-motion system for the enforcement of NYCDOT overweight vehicle policy, including field verifications & measurements, AutoCAD drawings, and field layout. Replaced cable-band bolts at 13 suspender cables. Tensioned bolts to specification on site and ensured quality control. Kept good records of measured values for reference during the final tensioning process.
Worked with the Institute Office of Information Technology to refresh the campus network of access points and switches. Diagnosed technical issues on site and fixed downed equipment.
Facade consulting for new construction & restoration of landmarked buildings in the New York City Metropolitan area. Shadowed inspectors and aided in the performance of product & assembly testing on site, as well as inspections of curtain wall facade installations. Aided in the structural inspection of deteriorating facades and parapets on restoration projects and conducted leak investigations. Developed technical writing & professional reporting skills, gained valuable site experience.
