About

Most people in entertainment can tell you whether a franchise is performing. Far fewer can tell you whether it has architecture, or just momentum that runs out. That distinction is the work. I'm Pete Bell, founder of Purpose Made. I advise studios, publishers and the investors circling them on IP strategy and franchise architecture: what an IP is actually worth, where that value is mispriced, and what it takes to build something that compounds across games, film and everything after. I learned this from inside. Six years at Electronic Arts, latterly as Head of Strategic Transformation and Growth, before founding Purpose Made in 2021. Most entertainment engagements are confidential. The work runs from canon baselines and transmedia frameworks to acquisition-side IP diligence for capital taking a hard look at undervalued studios. I build IP as well as well as critique them. I'm also a published children's author (Luna and the Lighthouse and Bob, the latter was a Book Prize nominee) and I develop original properties of my own. "Best-in-breed at what he does." Peter Y. Levin, Co-Founder, Griffin. Alongside the entertainment work, Purpose Made advises governments and leadership teams on transformation and policy, including research and written work for the Society Matters Foundation on the future of the North East. The throughline: I treat the asset as economic architecture, and tell people the truth about it. I host the Purpose Made Podcast and publish The Daily Digest, a daily intelligence briefing for the people shaping franchises. → purposemade.uk → purposemadepodcast.co.uk → thedailydigest.co.uk
