• Managed 3rd party supplier releases to mobile platform development teams delivering silicon devices or electronic modules for multiple operating systems as defined by the business units • Ownership for implementing the NPI Supply line management process that builds a demand supply network capability for Nokia products to balance product material cost, quality and availability in preparation for transfer to global volume production • Key interface for the global R&D phone sourcing teams and suppliers during the NPI phase, responsible for centralised material ordering and allocation in-line with the pre-production build plans for devices under my responsibility area • Conducted new supplier introductions and on-site audit assessments as part of a multi-disciplined team which resulted in the addition of four new 3rd party suppliers to Nokia’s supply base, one of which resulted in a production run for one supplier in excess of 700m devices • Enhanced the supplier collaboration meetings by including the supplier’s material planners responsible for the devices, thus providing us a greater level of transparency within their supply chain ensuring the capacity has been secured throughout the entire supplier chain
• Managed development of lease services in conjunction with the existing asset approved recovery subcontractors. Introduced the development and introduction of a Reverse Logistics Programme for customers wishing to return their leased computer equipment • Responsible for the inventory management of the Agilent Financial Services portfolio utilising the existing remarketing channel with Agilent Technologies, plus developed a sales channel with a US based remarketing agent
• Co-ordination of the material supply function within the R & D project team, communicating and co-ordinating the requirements and issues from concept to product launch • Extensive working with the UK and overseas factories from a materials viewpoint to ensure a smooth transition from R & D to high volume manufacturing. As a direct result of the face-to-face relationships developed with the overseas factories, this was instrumental in helping to reduce surplus component stocks in the UK by $10 million
