Leading and Managing the WMRC Operations team that provides waste transfer and waste management and recycling services: Accountabilities: Develop operational plans and business cases for the West Metro Recycling Centre including for capital works. Advise the CEO on infrastructure development matters. Stakeholder Management: Report to and attend Council and Committee meetings. Report to stakeholders including Member Councils and State Government entities. Consult and liaise with principal stakeholders on operational matters including Member Councils and other principal customers, principal contractors, State Government, neighbouring Local Governments and other Regional Councils.
Manage a monthly production of 700,000 kgs of post industrial recycled plastics as well as the production of flat sheet and molded parts. Supervise 35 staff in the 24-hour operation, responsible for occupational health and safety measures, recruitment, staff training, logistics and meeting production budgets. ✔ Cost reductions; improved labour recovery and increased savings through the LEAN manufacturing process. ✔ Improved safety measures; increased preventative safety measures, reducing the number of days where Loss Time Injuries occurred. ✔ Equipment efficiency; increased equipment efficiency and reduced repair expenses with a proactive maintenance schedule.
