A Civil Engineer Estimator/ Tenderer with (22) year’s experience in Building Construction, has extensive experience working in a large Main Contracting Companies (Qatar and UAE) estimating and awarded multi-million Government and Private construction projects like Residential Towers, Hotels, Villas, Offices, Commercial Building, Security Complex, Hospitals, Schools, Warehouses, Fit-Out Works, Value Engineering, and Design & Build Projects. Responsible for compiling estimates of how much it will cost to provide a client or potential client with products or services, indirect and direct cost assessing material, labor, sub-contractors/suppliers and equipment required. Responsible for commercial & technical submittal, evaluating and verify all tender documents, preparing queries to Client/Consultant, requesting quotation to the Subcontractors/suppliers, preparing quotation comparison sheet, quantity take-off, preparing BOQ, budget preparation & monitoring.
Reporting to General Manager Responsible for Commercial & Technical submittal. Prepare estimated costs of materials, labor, subcontractor/suppliers and use of equipment required to fulfill all provisions of the contract from simple to complex. Prepare Bill of Quantities, quantity take-offs and estimates in detail for self-performed work (Selective demolition, Concrete, steel erection, carpentry, etc.) Evaluate labor pricing/production for specific projects and/or locations; demonstrate proficiency in material, labor, sub and equipment pricing for all trade disciplines. Assemble general conditions estimates for review by Top Management. Assist with maintaining the estimating cost data base to ensure costs are up to date. Manage job-specific estimating teams in the assembly and submission of bids. Prepare Estimate Action List; establish responsibilities and make assignments to estimating team members; coordinate and supervise work; establish schedule for completion of tasks to meet project requirements. Review estimate assignments to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to formal submission. Consult with clients, architects, subcontractors, and material suppliers to discuss and formulate estimates, effect cost reductions, and resolve issues. Study specifications to assist the operations team in planning procedures for construction. Research construction documents and analyze specifications to determine estimated costs. Work with the operations team throughout the preconstruction process in reviewing plans and specifications for constructability issues and determining general requirements on the project. Understand how to create proper bid packages and bid alternate strategies. Ensure that all work items from scope review are included in estimate and that cost trail from bids to Bid Package Scope Analysis Worksheets to estimate is clear and correct.

Identify the type of works needed from the subcontractors and the proposed subcontractors using enquiry for subcontractor’s sheet. Request proposals from the approved subcontractors, suppliers or agents who are able to provide the requested Materials (as mentioned in Tender Documents). Conduct various correspondence for clarifications / queries prior to bidding and to maintain sufficient backup for further justification (if needs) Review subcontractors’, suppliers’ proposals and choose the best subcontractor based on their performance evaluation done by project in coordination with purchasing. Prepare the final cost calculation sheet and forward to Management for final pricing approval on time. Prepare the final proposal as per the client requirements and compliance. Submit the proposal before the dead line. Initiate preliminary cost / overhead cost in coordination with account, plant sections and receive approval from Top Management. Keep an up to date suppliers, subcontractor, and agencies list. Follow up to receive construction drawing from client/consultant, review for input to ensure that the construction drawing is without any discrepancy or different from tender drawing. Prepare specific works need (scope of works) for further agreement and negotiation while preparing agreement. Request proposals from the approved subcontractors, suppliers or agents who are able to provide the requested Materials (as mentioned in Tender Documents). Conduct various correspondence for clarifications / queries prior to bidding and to maintain sufficient backup for further justification (if needs) Review subcontractors’, suppliers’ proposals and choose the best subcontractor based on their performance evaluation done by project in coordination with purchasing. Prepare the final cost calculation sheet and forward to Top Management for final pricing approval on time. Prepare the final proposal as per the client requirements and compliance.
