About

I am a Senior Researcher at the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS), working at the intersection of conflict, security, and order making in West and East Africa. My research focuses on policing, peacekeeping, and intervention practices, drawing on extensive fieldwork in Sierra Leone and Ghana, as well as Somalia and Kenya. I am the author of Hybridization, Intervention and Authority: Security Beyond Conflict in Sierra Leone (2020) and co author of several books, including Securing Sierra Leone, 1997–2013: Defence, Diplomacy and Development in Action (with Paul Jackson, 2014).
