I am a driven energy and sustainability professional with a Master of Science from the University of Michigan's School for Environment and Sustainability. My academic work focused on advancing clean energy integration through energy policy analysis, power system modeling, and renewable energy economic analyses. I bring an analytical foundation from my undergraduate studies, where I graduated with a B.A. in Physics and Spanish from Kalamazoo College. After graduation, I gained four years of hands-on experience in the software industry, excelling in implementation, project management, and technical support. During this time, I honed my expertise in data analysis, process optimization, and SQL, equipping me with the skills to manage complex datasets and translate insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders. My background positions me to bridge the gap between energy systems, policy frameworks, and stakeholder engagement. I find meaning by applying my analytical expertise and project management skills to increase renewable energy deployment, decarbonize energy production, and modernize our grids.
- Providing expert intervenor testimony in Michigan utilities’ gas and electric regulatory proceedings (rate cases, IRPs, EWRs, etc). Outcomes included accelerated transition to LED streetlights, reduced electricity demand, and operational and capital disallowances, saving residential and municipal ratepayers several tens of millions of dollars. - Submitted comments on behalf of the Attorney General of Michigan to the MPSC suggesting improvements to low-income energy assistance programs and intensive project-by-project benefit-cost analyses for underground distribution investments. - Full stack and server software engineering for a public-facing hosted calculator assessing siting, salvage, and decommissioning costs for wind and solar developments in MI. Product will provide communities with richer context when engaging with energy developers. - Designed and developed an internal relational database of FERC Form 1 and EIA Form 861 fillings for all US Utilities (>2 billion data records). Product enables deep analytics into utility financials, allowing for comprehensive comparison across all major U.S. energy utilities.
Researched and created tax policy briefs and calculators for Midwestern communities and policymakers to better understand the economic benefits from hosting wind and solar projects.
Conducted research and utility financial analysis to support intervenor testimonies in DTE Electric and Consumers Energy Electric rate cases with the Michigan Public Service Commission.
