Merck teams included Technical Service Managers, R&D Managers, Senior Scientists and Global Product Managers. Portfolio Management: Photoresists, Developers, Removers, Antireflective Coatings, Surface Preparation and Cleans (EUV Rinses), Deposition Materials, Solvents, Shrink Solutions, Adhesion Promotors, Spin-on-Dielectrics and Spin-on-Carbon. Coordination with internal cross functional teams including Customer Service, Supply Chain, Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Global Product Management, R&D and Technical Service. Responsibilities include execution of NDA’s, Supply Agreements, Specifications, Process Change Notifications (PCN), New Product Introductions (NPI) and Supplier Performance Evaluations (SPE). Ownership of customer complaints and excursion investigations using 8D Root Cause Analysis methodology (Product and non-Product related).
Project management of product development for CMP Pads and Slurries through working with corporate R&D in Japan and European / US customers, developed and commercialized high removal rate Cu slurries, managed engineering projects for the installation of new plant equipment and quality improvements, ownership of slurry quality and analytical capability, pilot plant management and customer sampling, coordination with regional account teams on specification implementation, change control and forecasting.
Generation and presentation of CMP technical marketing data to customers, Leadership of customer demonstrations on AMAT and Ebara platforms, penetrated European CMP slurry market, responsibility for the deployment of slurry manufacturing in Europe, implementation of ISO9001, ISO14001 & OSHAS18001 for CMP manufacturing, advising customers on chemical distribution system design and trouble shooting, collaboration with pad conditioning suppliers, industry networking and presenting papers at Users Group Meetings.
Leadership of complaint investigations and process excursions, responsibility for plant SPC/SQC program, training operators in quality tools and techniques, responsibility for PPE, Product Stewardship and MSDS management, FMEA, implementation of SOP's, RFC's and Measurement System Capability Analysis (MSA).
Started-up and managed CMP (Chemical-Mechanical-Planarization) slurry analytical laboratory, method development and expertise in particle dispersion and characterization, implemented ISO9001 Quality Management System, global LIMS implementation, supplier management, technology transfer and product commercialization, customer audits and self assessments.
Started-up fumed silica QC laboratory. Worked closely with the European technical services laboratory on new tests methods, projects to improve fumed silica quality and new customer applications.
