Jerry Perullo is the Founder and CEO of Adversarial Risk Management (adversarial.com), a SaaS cyber risk management platform delivering the tools, processes, and visibility he found consistently lacking during his 25+ years in cybersecurity. He is also a Professor of the Practice at Georgia Tech, where he teaches the Enterprise Cybersecurity Management course to over 400 students each semester. Before founding Adversarial, Perullo served for over 20 years as the founding Chief Information Security Officer of ICE and the New York Stock Exchange. He was a Board Director of the FS-ISAC for six years, ultimately serving as Chair, and has held advisory and consulting roles across a wide range of industries and organizations—including an Interim CISO role at Silicon Valley Bank during its transition into federal receivership. Through both his academic and business efforts, Perullo applies a fresh approach to cyber risk management—providing turnkey solutions for newer programs and offering seasoned ones the opportunity to adopt new ways of thinking.
At Georgia Tech I teach as a Professor of the Practice in the School of Cybersecurity and Privacy. Beginning with my Adversarial Risk Management course in the Spring of 2022, I sprint through every aspect of a Fortune 500 CISO's responsibilities in a semester. The goal of my appointment is to leverage my hands-on leadership experience to arm the next generation of cybersecurity practitioners and leaders with the wisdom that only comes from practical experience.
I stepped into an interim CISO role to help SVB manage a transition under intense growth and regulatory scrutiny. This 6 month engagement took some dramatic unplanned twists as the bank went through receivership and an acquisition.
I served as the Chief Information Security Officer of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE: ICE) since 2001. I built and led the physical and cyber security programs for ICE, including the New York Stock Exchange, securing critical economic infrastructure across multiple subsidiaries, geographies, and regulatory jurisdictions. My teams were responsible for security across regulated futures and options exchanges, central counterparty clearing houses (CCPs), trade repositories, equities venues, and systemically important financial market utilities (SIFMUs).
