I'm a recent Psychology graduate from Aston university, who wishes to become a Clinical Psychologist in the future. I am currently aiming to work in mental health,and applying for the Clinical Psychology Doctorate. I am a warm and hard working individual who enjoys learning new things, amongst other activities and interests.
I worked as a retail assistant for the Christmas period, enjoying the interactions, supporting customers and working as part of a positive and supportive team. My role included ensuring our store was reflective of our high standards, supporting customers to search for specific items, serving at the till points and helping out on the customer service desk during peak periods.
My days are varied and include working on the fitting rooms,ensuring store standards are met on the shop floor, and assisting customers in any way I can. I was sad to leave my role early as I am now in the process of moving a distance away.
Responsibilities included audit work on clinic records amongst other things, in line with CQC standards, helping set up and run pilot service user groups with client populations, completing a thematic analysis of patient feedback from the Patient Experience Questionnaire (PEQ),shadowing a range of professionals and areas of the service, including Psychological Wellbeing Practioners.
My duties were varied and included carrying out audit work as part of a team, compiling questionnaire responses from a service audit carried out by previous students and creating graphical representations, shadowing initial appointments with young people and their families, scoring a variety of psychometric tests, shadowing the administration of a the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC), attending seminars on behalf of the team, carrying out school observations for clinicians, report writing, presentations to the team, creating resources for families including social stories, and helping out in reception when required (answering calls, greeting families, filing etc), amongst other things.
