Strategic Leader in Mineral Exploration & Sustainable Mining I am a senior executive and geoscientist with over 30 years of experience driving the minerals sector at the intersection of government, academia, and industry. My career has been dedicated to advancing mineral exploration, economic geology, and national resource strategies. Core Impact & Leadership National Strategy Architect: I led the expert group that prepared Finland’s National Minerals Strategy (2010) and was a key contributor to the National Natural Resources Strategy and the current Finnish Mining Act. Executive Management: Served 25 years at the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) in high-level roles, including Director of Mineral Economics, Science and Innovation Director, Research Professor, and Vice Director General. Global Innovation: Played a pivotal role in establishing EIT RawMaterials (the world’s largest raw materials innovation community) and co-developed the Green Mining concept, serving on the steering group for the major Tekes Green Mining Programme. Academic Excellence: Adjunct Professor in Economic Geology at the University of Helsinki. My research—comprising ~80 publications—contributed to the discovery of the Pampalo gold mine and the Orivesi gold mine, for which I was awarded by Outokumpu Oyj.
