Develop internal test processes and generate testing documentation packages in preparation for and execution of GSE, flight, and non-flight hardware testing through development, qualification, and acceptance test campaigns.
Led team of engineers and technicians through flight and non-flight hardware testing of spacecraft components and subsystems through development, qualification, and acceptance test campaigns. • Project manager for test chamber upgrades and test fixture design for a multi-day thermal vacuum test of the VIPER lunar rover. • Lead a team of project engineers (5-10) responsible for troubleshooting facility development activities while maintaining project schedule and budget. • Prime interface with the customer and divisional management for weekly updates with project status, budget, schedule, and risk mitigation plans. • Technical lead, planner, and conductor of unmanned thermal and thermal vacuum test operations at the NASA JSC Crew and Thermal Systems Division. • Managed personnel, schedules, forecasts, progress, and budget of testing activities. • Performed troubleshooting for various hardware and testing facility issues. • Prepared and authored numerous detailed test and assembly procedures and test readiness review packages, including test rules and training materials. • Mentored junior staff through certification program required to receive unmanned test director certification from the JSC Crew and Thermal Systems Division.
I led international subsea drilling installation projects, serving as the primary point of contact for technical queries, and as a liaison between the in-country customer team, and TechnipFMC’s in-country and Houston teams. In this position I provided the customers with equipment and tooling recommendations based on their requirements, to optimize planning and delivery, while minimizing downtime due to unforeseen offshore issues. I consistently provided engineering guidance on equipment maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment and was responsible for creating root cause analysis reports on field failures to eliminate or minimize the risk of reoccurrence. During the offshore installation phase of my projects, I provided 24x7 engineering support and was ready to respond with last-minute engineering solutions to minimize downtime and overcome operational challenges experienced by the customer.
As a Senior Design Engineer, I guided junior engineers through their projects and approved their engineering work in addition to managing my own workflow. I worked on expanding the capability of the company’s legacy products by combining funding from both customer needs for additional testing and internal desire to limit test existing products, thereby reducing overall qualification costs. In this role I had the opportunity to lead a cross-functional multicultural team through several product qualification projects, where I remotely mentored and provided engineering counsel to a team of engineers and workshop technicians. This interaction culminated with a 2-month long international assignment to perform qualification testing for a key customer. I also had the opportunity to utilize my fluency in Portuguese to help translate a customer’s technical specification to English, and worked on delivering a product to this customer that not only met their requirements, but far exceeded the current industry standard for that particular product.
