Leading Engineering and IT at Germany's largest residential heat-pump installer through an AI-first transformation. Highest-ranking technical executive. Mandate: modernize the platform, build a high-agency engineering culture, and turn AI from slogan into measurable leverage so we can keep scaling the energy transition profitably. What I'm focused on: 1. Modernizing the platform Moving from a decade-old monolith to an API-first architecture where each business domain owns its services. All capabilities compatible with AI harnesses and exposed to all users. Time-to-market shifting from months to weeks. 2. Reshaping the tech org Upskilling the team, promoting internal champions, and hiring senior engineers and EMs from category-defining tech companies. Building AI fluency into hiring, performance, and everyday work. 3. Co-authoring the internal AI stack Workspace, knowledge, agents, and the patterns that turn AI into individual and company-wide acceleration, co-owned with the CPO and a small Center of AI Excellence. - Responsible for 2 squads, 1 EM, 1 Lead, 16 headcount - Managing remote-first teams across 7 countries - Responsible for core services supporting over 100M registered users Joined in a high growth phase with the objective of spinning up new teams to accelerate business.
Grew from 8 to 24 engineers in 4 teams led by EMs. Got new Machine Translation models deployed to customers in minutes instead of days. Partnering with Sales, we launched an API-first, fully digital experience for digital native customers that eliminated the need for 90% of human intervention. It helped us gain market share in the Nordics at a lower cost of labor.
