As the Scrum Master for an agile team consisting of five developers and two testers, I also serve as the Tech Lead and Software Prime for the 25GS-PON MSA technology. My primary responsibilities include leading the introduction, maintenance, and productization of the 25GS-PON technology.

    • Embedded Software Design Engineer
      Sep 2016 - May 2020 · 3 yrs 9 mos

Having worked in the optical fiber department, during my years of contribution, I primarily focused on the development of OLTs within the ISAM 7360 platform family. My emphasis has been on the continuous advancement of fiber technologies, particularly in the development of the Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation (DBA) algorithm and MAC layer for NGPON2, XGS, and 25GS-PON standards. As part of my role, I actively participated in the life cycle of new products, contributing to architectural decisions for the Quilion chip, designed by Nokia RnD. Additionally, I played a significant role as a contributor to Cooperative DBA/CTI (Cooperative Transport Interface), a prototype facilitating integration between the PON and Mobile (4G) domains. This work was executed in a development environment adhering to Agile and DevOps methodologies, employing continuous delivery and continuous test integration practices.

  • Research Fellow at National Institute For Space Research
    Sep 2012 - Sep 2013 · 1 yr 1 mo

In this project, I conducted a feasibility study for an antenna system intended for deployment on the CosmoGal satellite. The work was organized into three main stages: 1. Algorithm Development: Created an algorithm to generate three-dimensional models of various corrugated horn antenna profiles. 2. CST Simulation Testing: Tested the antennas using CST simulations to identify profiles best suited for the intended application. 3. Optimization and Implementation Plan: Selected the most promising models and proceeded to optimize them, proposing a comprehensive implementation plan. This effort culminated in the completion of my Master's in Science thesis titled "Corrugated Horns for the CosmoGal Satellite."

  • Research Fellow at Refer Telecom
    Apr 2011 - Jul 2012 · 1 yr 4 mos

In partnership with Refer, software was developed to predict GSM-R power losses in railways. It employs a sophisticated system of variables that enables the use of the Okumura-Hata model with all its corrective factors. The software reads common file types such as DTM, DSM, Clutter, Buildings, and railways in WGS84 (GPS). It allows users to interact with a graphical interface, facilitating site management with a simple click. As output, it displays power levels for all sites and the Best Server along the railway in both graphical and ©Google Earth formats. Developed in collaboration with ReferTelecom, the public railway operator in Portugal.
