Tech Lead of a cross-functional, senior-heavy team of 8 engineers working on core platform services at Piwik PRO. I’m accountable for systems enabling authentication and authorization, payments, audit logging, and tenant lifecycle. I lead an evolutionary transition of most of the platform from PHP to Python/Go, carried out incrementally while keeping the platform stable and in active development. My role combines technical leadership with responsibility for people and delivery: setting priorities together with product and business stakeholders, and supporting engineers’ growth during a period of significant technical and organizational change.
I worked as a backend-focused software engineer on platform services, with a strong emphasis on long-term maintainability, security, and correctness . My role was highly hands-on and covered the full lifecycle of backend features, from design and implementation to production support. Key responsibilities and contributions: - Designed and developed backend services in Python and Go, working with Django, Django REST Framework, and a Kubernetes-based runtime environment. - Implemented and evolved authentication and authorization mechanisms, including SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, and an in-house RBAC solution. - Supported and gradually modernized existing PHP (Symfony) applications while introducing Python-based services. - Contributed to the transition from a legacy Rancher setup to Kubernetes-native infrastructure, improving reliability and operational consistency. - Built internal tooling to identify and address abusive or unintended platform usage, improving overall resource efficiency. - Participated in technical interviews as a co-interviewer and supported onboarding of new engineers.
Mentored university students as they prepared for their first professional roles. Supported them in career planning, developing practical skills, and preparing for job interviews, with a strong focus on bridging the gap between academic studies and real-world work.
