About

I am multilingual energetic, passionate and driven professional with 8+ years’ commercial experience in business development and sales related to medical devices and laboratory equipment in life sciences and molecular diagnostics. My strong scientific background and international experience complete my profile, allowing me to be a 360° professional. After completing BSc and MSc degrees at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, respectively, I was selected as a research scientist for the prestigious international Marie-Curie research network. My project focused on the development of opto-electrochemical biosensors for cancer detection. During this period, I completed my MPhil in Electronic & Electrical Engineering at the University of Bath. Through collaboration with Dublin City University, my contribution to the development of fragmented antibodies resulted in the realisation of an electrochemical biosensing platform and its publication in several prestigious journals. My ambition for the new challenges led me to join Zimmer & Peacock. A company focused on developing electrochemical biosensors for medical, environmental and food applications, where I held the international sales and business development manager position. Later I joined Medline Scientific as a regional manager, directing the sales and supply of medical equipment and consumables for hospitals, academic institutes and industries.

Electrochemical localised surface plasmon resonance for detection of novel prostate cancer biomarkers. In this project is explored the combination of Localised Surface Plasmon Resonance (LSPR) with electrochemistry to provide detection of PCa biomarkers. This novel approach will allow rapid, real-time analysis of biomolecular interactions in micro-volume sample sizes providing precise information on affinity, kinetics or concentration with high sensitivity. Novel and alternative prostate cancer biomarkers will be tested with the technique.
