I majored on Greek and Latin Languages at The Univeridade de São Paulo (1990) and I obtained master and doctorate degrees on Classics in 1996 and 2003, respectively, at same University. I taught Latin Literature and Language at some private universities and at The Universidade Estadual “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” at Assis/São Paulo. Besides that. I taught Portuguese Language and Literature at some High Schools in São Paulo also. Currently, I’m Professor at Universidade de São Paulo at the Department of Classic and Vernacular Languages and Literature, teaching undergraduate and graduate classes, supervising both Master and Doctorate students. I was Vice-President of The Brazilian Society of Classical Studies (2010-2011), also President of Editorial Board of Classica (Brasil), the journal of the same Society, and currently I am its editor. I was chair of the Graduate Program of Classic Languages and Literatures/USP (2009-2011). I was Visiting Professor at King’s College London (KCL) at The University of London, with sponsorship of FAPESP (2012) and Visiting fellow at Yale University (2013-2014) developing a study on Augustan poetry. I am a researcher at CNPQ anda the Program of Advanced Studies on Antiquity’s Representations (PROAERA) at The Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and member of the group research “Rhetoric and Artistic Doctrines” (USP/CNPq). I am a member of the Deliberative and Advisory Council of Brazilian Society of Rhetoric (affiliated ALR and ISHR). I’m affiliated to ICS (Institute of Classical Studies, London).
