- Relationship, strategic and portfolio management responsibility for LBGs' ship finance activities in Greece & Turkey – c.USD2bn portfolio, combining publicly listed, and private, shipowners across all main shipping segments. - Management responsibility for leading/developing a dedicated relationship management team of up to 3 Associate Directors. - Substantial corporate restructuring/facility reshaping expertise, most recently following LTSB’s acquisition of HBOS in January 2009 and associated inheritance of complex heritage HBOS Greek shipping portfolio, comprising bilateral and agency/lead Lender roles.
- Responsibility for delivery of origination/execution team structure that successfully facilitated transition from leasing-focused to debt-focused operating model, enabling Ship Finance to scale up to unprecedented levels in terms of new debt business levels and capacity. - Developed, motivated and led team of six, successfully executing record levels of new business originated by RMs (from structuring support, through credit approval and documentation), with highly improved processes and credit sanction rates. - Close involvement in all new business execution, across geographic regions, thereby maintaining broad exposure to customers, sectors, and bank market. - Worked alongside Head of Ship Finance in strategy development and roll-out, and oversight of management information.
- Credit/risk analyst, with particular focus on shipping sector, but also encompassing aviation, rail, and structured finance transactions.
- RM and business development responsibility for global portfolio of airlines and operating lessors, including Air Canada, Air France, Continental, Emirates, Iberia, LAN Chile, Northwest, Qantas, Qatar Airways, SALE, SAS, Southwest, and TAM. - Broad-ranging knowledge and experience of transaction structures, including JOLs, JALCOs, ECA structures (ECGD, COFACE, Hermes, US Exim), French tax leases, EETCs, and traditional full and limited recourse debt. - Restructuring experience in downturn post-9/11, e.g. Air Canada CCAA (2003); TAM Brazil (2004).
- Focus on origination and delivery of ECA-supported and commercial aircraft debt facilities. - Involvement in delivery of other ECA-supported and trade finance facilities in energy, financials and telecoms sectors. - Market and asset analysis to support strategy and new business activities.
