A conscientious and strong Manager with more than 30 years’ experience in Fit Out, Facilities Management, Maintenance Management, Project Management, Logistical Services, Business Development and Construction Management both in the UK and the Middle East. Areas of work have included International sports stadium, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Qatar cultural locations, local schools as well as many retail and commercial projects. Originally from a Construction Management background I am Customer/Client focused and I have a keen eye for detail being meticulous in the provision of the highest standards of work and timing for Project Management and delivery. Management of four construction fit-Out packages in a new build Waldorf Astoria 5 Star hotel in Lusail, Qatar with total value in excess of 20 million Qatari Riyals. Packages include two restaurants (One all day dining the other a feature franchised restaurant), A kids club for 4 – 14-year-old children and a feature Cigar Club/lounge. Total value of the combined projects is more than 17 million Qatar Riyals. Responsible for all civil and joinery packages within the scope of each package area together with the coordination of all MEP and related works including all sub-contracted labour resource (in excess of 300 staff). Scheduling and coordination of all joinery works produced in-house in the company’s own joinery factory and installed on site with in-house as well as sub-contracted work forces. All works are being completed to the highest standard within a challenging program for completion of the overall project.
Management of 50 staff covering two school campuses for Doha College. Work included management of all soft and hard services activities such as cleaning, landscaping, MEP planned and reactive maintenance. Management of sub-contractor services for civil engineering works or other specialist fields as and when required. Management of special projects during school vacations. Management of Health and Safety for all activities including Fire Life Safety. Successfully managed and completed Qatar Civil Defense Application for Doha College West Bay.
Worked on the Qatar 2022 Al Rayyan Stadium and Precinct Project for The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy. Responsible for multiple finishing packages within the main stadium including high quality mock-ups of finishing details including wall and floor marble and granite works, porcelain tiling, dry wall and ceiling systems. Managing finishing subcontractor packages for plenum, curtain walling, plastering, painting and dry lining as well as MEP coordination works.
Main point of contact for the project management of a $900,000 “Re-Stack” short term project for ExxonMobil Qatar at their head office building with a view to increasing available area for sub-letting. Finalization of all working drawings for Architectural, Electrical and mechanical drawings. Preparation of QCDD application for construction approval. Preparation of all tender documents to allow a competitive tender bid by a contractor to carry out the complete project. Single point of contact within ExxonMobil for all associated works, staff movements and SSHE requirements.
Project Management and site management during construction of the fit out of 12 retail locations and the subsequent management of their facilities and maintenance requirements. Negotiation of maintenance contracts and management of the maintenance companies. Responsible for the Health and Safety knowledge and training of 130+ staff. Negotiating logistic and warehousing solutions for new ventures both in Qatar and UAE. liaising direct with the Client for day to day requirements for the retail outlets.
