My Role as the Regional (Research) Database Manager was proactive in expanding the pool of potential major gift prospects for the UWI Vice Chancellor’s office (University Advancement). I developed, implemented, and maintained effective research methods, administrative processes, and efficient data collection and dissemination. In this capacity, I was responsible for ensuring data integrity, and upholding standards of input for Major Prospect information and played a significant role in systems upgrades, new systems acquisitions and implementation. I also maintained a prospect tracking and clearance system for all major donor prospects. This involved regular interaction with all the Regional officers (Trinidad, Barbados, US, UK, etc.) to determine who their major prospects are, determining others who are interested in these prospects, and ensuring that clearance and coding in all databases reflected the current clearance status. I was also an integral partner in the preparation of prospect solicitation strategies. This required a firm understanding of projects requiring funding so that relevant information is included.
