• Cooperation and Collaboration with DuPont Pioneer: Establish better coordination, cooperation, and collaboration between DuPont Crop Protection and DuPont Pioneer. • Knowledge transfer/Extension: Train DuPont Pioneer agronomy teams on DuPont Crop Protection Products and provide general crop protection and agronomy education. Educational responsibilities also include training DuPont sales teams on DuPont Crop Protection Products. Unique training materials and classes were developed to increase crop protection knowledge in Pioneer and DuPont sales. • Field Development Responsibilities: Plan and execute large plot crop protection protocols in conjunction with the Pioneer agronomy teams. Collect, manage, and analyze data concerning DuPont products new to the marketplace to help with product positioning information and sales. • Sales support: Provide sales support to DuPont sales teams by helping with small plot trials in collaboration with the local Field Development Representative. Support also includes participating on service calls with customers and providing sales support in conjunction with Pioneer agronomists and seed account managers.
• Field Research: Applied field crops research in seed production fields of the South Willamette Valley, specialized in pest management, particularly entomology and weed science. • Extension: Field Crops County Extension agent for Benton, Linn, and Polk Counties. Prepared educational materials and helped research and distribute up to date OSU agronomic information to South Willamette Valley clientele. Published a monthly newspaper page on agronomic topics in the Linn County Update Insert. • Entomology Field Crops Specialist: Willamette Valley entomology Extension responsibility shared with entomology specialists on campus. Designed and carried out research to study agronomically important insect pests in the Willamette Valley. • Graduate Mentoring: Mentored and trained graduate students and served on graduate student committees. Primary advisor for 1 M.S. level graduate student in Crop Science.
• Field Research: Annually designed and conducted 25 to 50 separate field experiments testing herbicide formulations and efficacy on weed pests which directly resulted in the development of integrated weed management practices designed to specifically benefit corn and soybean production in the Midwest. Specifically coordinated research and supervised work at 2 off-campus research sites in Indiana. • Volunteer Corn Research: Studied volunteer corn and implications for insect and weed pests. • Data Analysis: Analyzed and prepared reports using ARM, SAS, R, JMP, and other software programs. • Publications/Presentations: Authored 8 peer-reviewed papers and presented original data at 7 regional/national meetings of professional societies. Authored 1 extension publication and presented research findings at extension meetings and crop diagnostic training workshops. • Management Experience: Supervised and coordinated field experiments with up to 10 graduate and undergraduate workers each season.
• Transgenic Corn Insect Resistance Management: Conducted field research projects of current insect resistance management (IRM) refuge designs which included designing a live-insect-baited pheromone trap to record insect mating behavior and movement within transgenic corn. • Field Research: Experience conducting corn and soybean insecticide efficacy experiments including planting, data collection, and harvest at 4 off-campus field sites throughout Indiana. • Insect Scouting: Performed insect scouting techniques in both corn and soybean throughout Indiana using sweep nets, pheromone traps, and sticky traps to determine insect movement behavior and pest thresholds within fields for the purpose of evaluating and developing integrated pest management strategies in Indiana. • Data management: Analyzed and prepared reports using SAS, JMP, and other software programs. • Publications/Presentations: Authored 1 peer-reviewed paper and presented original data at 3 regional/national meetings of professional societies. Authored 1 extension publication and presented research findings at crop diagnostic training workshops. • Management Experience: Supervised and coordinated field experiments with up to 8 undergraduate workers each season.
• Customer Service: Received, prepared, and delivered blood orders to local and regional hospitals. • Management Experience: Supervised up to 3 workers during the shift. • Quality Control: Performed quality control of laboratory equipment to ensure FDA certification. • Product Inventory: Experience with product inventory procedures, including storage and management of products at 3 satellite labs.
