Section TA for the MEEN 381 course (Seminar). Responsible for leading a weekly recitation class, maintaining the course's schedule, grading, and communicating with students.
• Established price bands to estimate the percentage of compensated curtailment periods based on historical curtailment data (MWh) and Real-Time (RT) 5-minute Locational Marginal Prices (LMP). • Wrote a Python script to calculate the daily total curtailments and their compensated/uncompensated splits for 18 California sites. This was done by matching 5-minute curtailment periods (PI Server) and LMP prices (extracted from the CAISO API) to each site’s completed price bands. • Presented to company executives the benefits and risks of investing in utility-scale flow battery storage. • Identified key contractual differences between sites’ Power Purchase Agreements, Interconnection Agreements, and Operations and Maintenance Agreements.
