Dubai, United Arab Emirates
I was appointed Chief Executive Office of Dubai Airports in October, 2007, following its formation from a department of the Dubai Government. Since then the airport has undergone a dramatic transformation, tripling its passenger and cargo capacity and within ten years became the world’s busiest airport for international passengers. I've been proud to be part of a great team who lead the operations and development of Dubai International (DXB) and also Dubai World Central (DWC). Since I joined Dubai Airports in October 2007, we've played host to hundreds of millions of customers and have been responsible for the strategic transformation of our infrastructure to create an airport capable of hosting up to 120 million customers. Together, in 2008, we opened DXB's Terminal 3 – one of the largest buildings of its kind - in 2010 we inaugurated Dubai second airport, DWC. In 2013 we completed Concourse A - the world’s first and largest purpose-built A380 facility, followed quickly by our fourth concourse, Concourse D. Rebounding quickly following the Covid-19 pandemic, we returned to full operational capacity by November 2021 and the team at DXB displayed the resourcefulness and agility that enabled us to welcome back international tourists as early as July 2020. My entire team and I are proud to be part of the critical infrastructure of one of the world's greatest cities, founded on the strength of its integrated aviation enterprise which has made Dubai the largest international transport hub in the world.
