Serves as HQ TRADOC and DCS G-3/5/7 Operational Plans Manager. Provides subject matter expertise and acts as the lead senior analyst and TRADOC Strategic Plan (TSP) Division Chief. Plans, implements and executes operational plans for HQ TRADOC. Reviews Department of Defense plans, Department of Army plans, TRADOC strategic, operational and functional plans, and other Army plans. Integrates plans into a coherent operational plan for execution by HQ TRADOC staff and subordinate organizations. Leads the TRADOC planning process and develops MACOM plans and orders. Supervises 4 subordinate planners.
Duties: Chief of the Future Warfare Division, Joint Wargaming Branch (JWB), provided leadership, direction and coordination of Army participation in other Service, joint, multinational, and OSD wargames; responsible for guidance and supervision of three civilian employees in the planning, development, coordination, and execution of Army wargaming goals and game objectives and ensured that adjudication, assessment, and appropriate personnel augmentation to player and assessment cells was coordinated.
Duties: Assisted the Director, Strategy and Policy in the development and coordination of strategy and policy, concepts, strategic options, and positions in support of the Commander U.S. Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM). As a J5 strategist and planner, coordinated plans, issues, and activities relevant to command strategy and policy with the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Staff, the Services, USJFCOM component commands, NATO Allied Command Transformation, and other unified commands. Represented USJFCOM in the Joint Planning and Execution Community in the development of national strategy and policy and participated in the development of Joint Strategic Planning System Documents, Defense Planning Scenario inputs, Security Cooperation strategy and policy, and on strategic issues of concern to the Commander USJFCOM. Key projects included the following: conduct of a comprehensive Command Mission Analysis, development and coordination of the USJFCOM Component Commanders meetings, the USJFCOM Security Cooperation Planning effort, and primary author of the 2006 USJFCOM Command Security Cooperation plan (SCP). The USJFCOM Command Mission Analysis resulted in new command mission priorities.
Responsible for the development of major Army operations plans and supporting force requirements for European theater contingence operations and United States European Command (USEUCOM) support to United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Contingency Plans branch was responsible for the development of the United States Army Europe (USAREUR) Campaign Plan for the Deployment, Reintegration, Reorganization, and Retraining of forces deploying and returning from Operations Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. In the development of plans for USAREUR support of Iraq operation, conducted planning with USEUCOM, USCENTCOM and USEUCOM components using the Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES). As part of the USEUCOM Joint Planning Group, worked JOPES crisis action planning for Global War On Terror (GWOT) operations in Africa and the European continent.
As the Deliberate Plans Chief, I was responsible for the development and publication, of V Corps Deliberate Plans and maintenance of Major Regional Contingency (MRC) Plans, Lesser Regional Contingency (LRC) plans, and other contingency planning to include JSCP and EUCOM requirements and Contingency plans derived from NATO and V Corps participation in JCS, NATO, and V Corps directed exercises. As a core G3 planner, responsible for conducting leadership of operational planning team operations, for leading the Corps Battle Staff in the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP), and for coordinating the Battle Staff's efforts during the production of written plans and orders to fulfill the Corps Commander’s intent during Corps, USEUCOM, NATO exercises, and wartime operations.
