Paul founded COHA Group after amassing over 25 years of experience in the architectural design, property development and construction sectors. He possesses a very strong and uniquely diverse skill base throughout his career, allowing him to add value along every step of the project delivery cycle. He demonstrates an intuitive understanding of people and a creativity and adaptability that enables him to work in various environments and projects. Paul studied Architecture at the University of Adelaide and worked in his home city Adelaide, for three years before giving in to the travel bug, and took off to the USA, Western and Eastern Europe eventually working in an Architectural Practice in Berlin, Germany for two exciting and life changing years. On returning home in the late 90s, Paul made his home in Brisbane, and worked in some of Brisbane's more renowned architectural firms. Years later, seeking more professional challenges, Paul was chosen by Lend Lease Development to be Development Manager for one of its largest QLD projects before spending 11 years working in the Design + Construction space, having just completed an 8 year stint in one of Queensland's leading mid-tier construction firms as Head of its Hospitality, Entertainment + Leisure sector. In August 2018, Paul launched his own Project Management company, COHA Group. Paul had always maintained a close involvement throughout the design, development and construction of all his projects. He has earned an enviable level of trust with his clients, is committed to building strong relationships, and has an unwavering commitment to the quality of his work and the integrity in which he delivers it. Paul believes the delivery of a project should be an exciting + inspiring process, not a dreary + combative one. Excellent design and building outcomes are most likely when they co-exist with integrity of process + enjoyment in what you do. COHA Group deliver its projects with exactly that in mind.
In 2010, Paul joined the design and construction firm Paynter Dixon QLD as a Senior Design Manager, and was soon promoted to the role of Design & Development Manager. He was responsible for the design and client management of a variety of Hospitality, Sport, Aged Care and Industrial projects during this time, where he oversaw a number of extremely successful projects. In 2016, he was promoted again to lead the Hospitality, Entertainment and Leisure sector for the company which he did with great success, expanding the company's reach into the sporting sector and increasing its traction in the Hospitality space, until his departure in August 2018. It was Paul's ability to recognise the key drivers of a project from all perspectives and the needs of each stakeholder - from the start to the finish of a project, that enabled him and his team to deliver so many successful projects. Paul's abilities in design, design management, commercial feasibilities, property development, town planning and the market sensitivities with each project, allowed him to add value and generate excellent outcomes and steer and grow the Hospitality, Entertainment + Leisure sector, where he and his team worked on some of the most prominent hospitality, leisure + sporting projects in QLD.
