Over the last 7 years, at PE owned Ausenco, I have supported the Group CFO in end-to-end management of global finance strategy and operations, strengthening fiscal transparency and steering the company through a number of initiatives encompassing global M&A activity and delivery of a major debt financing transaction. Leading the business through growth, I contributed to securing long-term commercial EPC contracts in late 2021 as a commercial advisor to legal, operations, finance and tax teams. Operationally, a key part of my role involved restoring business confidence in the turnaround of the Kuala Lumpur Shared Service Centre in 2022. Additionally, I am responsible for leading the corporate treasury function where I steward the management of liquidity across 10 jurisdictions maintaining lending and banking relationships globally.
Charitable Foundation
An interim role, I provided stewardship in stabilising a startup business and contributing to controlled growth management. Key to this was presenting to funding partners and providing a credible forecast to close an 8-figure funding round in collaboration with the Corporate Development team. I also reduced cash costs by 15%, re-forecasting the FY19 overhead and CAPEX spend and achieving buy-in and engagement across the business. To support the company's rapid growth, I recruited 6 new staff on the finance team.
Working closely with the Board and MD, key deliverables include integrating a recent acquisition Bloomer Constructions into the Group and raising 8 figures in redeemable preference share capital to underwrite the Couran Cove tourist resort acquisition, working with the MD to present the business forecast, strategy and outlook to high-net-worth individuals. Significantly improving revenue capture and staff morale at Couran Cove, I re-engineered new systems and processes in security, record keeping, and point of sale and recruited new F&B and travel/events leaders.
Tasked with leading corporate finance management activities for a business in default, I supported the Corporate Development team and CFO/MD to source, review and drive refinancing opportunities. Managed the group treasury function and ERP system, prepared accurate and timely ASX financial statements, annual financial audit information and all internal Board financial reporting. Provided motivational leadership during adversity to 4 direct reports in the Corporate Finance team and the Botswana operations team. Liaised with auditors, banks and financial advisors as required. I was responsible for preparing consolidated monthly management accounts for 9 group entities. I spent time at the operations in Botswana to address critical budgeting issues and received Board buy-in for the 2015 budget. Elevating reporting and data presentation, I enabled the finance team to focus on value-added analytics by overlaying IBM Cognos BI on the accounting system.
