Medicine is where science meets hope. By unraveling the mysteries of biology, we can help people live life on their own terms. That drives me and always has, ever since my days at medical school in Zurich. Now, as President of the International unit for Novartis, I have the great privilege and opportunity to work with my colleagues and healthcare system partners to help to tackle some of society’s most important healthcare issues. My remit covers a wide range of geographies and healthcare systems, and I am committed to working with partners on the ground to find solutions that work in each of them. Like me, Novartis has its roots in Switzerland, but its outlook and vision is truly global, and we must ensure our science and innovation can benefit as many people around the world as possible. The key is partnership and collaboration. Whether you’re someone living with disease, a caregiver, a healthcare professional, a public servant, or someone working to make healthcare in your community a little bit better, day by day, I am confident that together, we can reimagine medicine to improve and extend people’s lives.
