• Led Data Governance Efforts and Data Strategy for Universal Destinations & Experiences. • Provide key feedback to development and business teams on best practices regarding Data Governance, Data Compliance(GDPR/CCPA), Data Retention, and Master Data Management. • Built out a Ontological automated tagging process leveraging Snowflake Cortex AI & Snowpark that queries a list of all Data Assets, pulls metadata, sample data, and then assigns an Ontological Metadata framework of tags, that are used to enrich and help us better leverage our data. • Ontological framework is leveraged as a technical catalog and loaded into a semantic view in order to drive a Snowflake Intelligence AI Agent that is used to massively enable Data Discovery.
• Led the adoption of new Databricks features, establishing best organizational practices in collaboration with 84.51° Senior Architects that streamlined data operations and improved team productivity across 84.51°. • Led engineering efforts as the sole engineer for a cross-functional team on a AI/Machine Learning Data Product in Databricks that takes in over 30+ upstream data sources (including Petabyte OLAP spanning over 3 years of Kroger transaction & household data) cleans the data, and transforms into viable inputs for a custom AI/Machine Learning Model based on Meta's Prophet Model, Optuna, and PGBM. • Founding member of the 84.51° Optimization Community of Practice, in which I led technical efforts on Spark code tuning & compute optimization that led to $850K in annualized savings within a 6-month span. • Gave multiple presentations to the 84.51° Data Engineering Practice Group, Databricks Office Hours, Data Science Practice Group, and Executive Level Leadership on Cloud Cost Optimization & Tuning, Observability & Logging, and Machine Learning/AI Deployment & Execution. • Managed all the infrastructure for the SIM team, from setting up storage on Azure/Unity Catalog, migrating existing source and destination tables to Unity Catalog, allocating resources/permissions through Terraform cloud, setting up Observability & Logging with Datadog, and revamping our CI/CD process with GitHub Workflows/Databricks Asset Bundles.
• Worked primarily on the transaction processing/payment solutions team leading multiple projects, working directly with FIS/Worldpay Fintech clients to create ETL/ELT Pipelines underneath FIS's Merchant Solutions Division. • Built and maintained scalable & GDPR-compliant ETL/ELT pipelines for 100+ Snowflake tables, taking data from on-prem and outputting to the cloud, enhancing data accessibility and reliability. • Lead key development efforts in Hadoop(Hive/Impala) utilizing Spark & Apache HDFS.
• Managed an offshore team of five to migrate, transform, and archive over 500,000 records from a sunsetting system utilizing Oracle SQL, Selenium, & Unix.
