Music Heals We are a group of music enthusiasts and music lovers who have come together to help raise awareness of the healing powers of music. The Music Heals Charitable Foundation supports a wide range of music therapy services to communities in BC and across Canada. We fund increased access to music therapy for patients in children’s hospitals, senior’s centers, palliative care, AIDS & HIV programs, at-risk youth, rehabilitation, and bereavement support. Music Heals is a not-for-profit society incorporated in British Columbia and is registered with Canada Revenue Agency as a charitable foundation.
The Music Therapy Ride is an annual motorcycle charity ride designed to raise funds for community-based music therapy services in British Columbia. Established by members of the music industry, with representatives from record labels, radio stations, booking agencies, talent managers, concert promoters and recording artists, the Music Therapy Ride has broadened its reach over the years to all motorcycle enthusiasts. MTR has raised over $1,000,000 as a result of its annual ride from Vancouver to Whistler. In addition to aiding Music Therapists and general Music Therapy programs, the MTR committee has funded mobile recording studios called Bandwagons for BC Children’s Hospital , as well as manufactured a mobile recording studio to service patients bedside in the hospital. The mobile studios enable Music Therapists to expand their already vital work by giving clients the ability to record the music created during their therapy sessions. This music provide a legacy for their family, friends and community.

Launched, programmed and managed Shore 104.3, bringing an Adult Alternative format to a new signal on Vancouver’s FM dial. Created and hosted “Deja Noon”, an eclectic mid day blend of retro music, and co-hosted “Music Notes at Six”, a mix of music news, interviews, and feature programming. Developed “The Shore 104.3 Song Search” to champion, feature and support developing local talent. Launched Shore 104’s “Adopt an Instrument” campaign to put unused instruments in the hands of youth in underfunded music programs, shelters, and community centers.
