Assisting in the production of several species of culinary mushrooms serving restaurants, farmers’ markets, and grocery stores in the Ottawa area. Responsibilities include the cultivation, harvest, maintenance, and delivery of mushrooms at a container farm operating on NCC land.
Assisted in a successful and novel commercial scallop breeding experiment. Responsibilities also included harvesting, cleaning, and maintaining commercial oyster beds and harvesting equipment.
Responsible for 7th grade curriculum development and delivery. Content focused on using the Adirondack mountains, school kitchen, farm, and garden for teaching both Math and Science.
Conducted laboratory and field work exploring glacial meltwater chemistry and downstream impacts in the Canadian Arctic and Greenland. Taught and and led classroom discussions and laboratory practicals covering the physics and chemistry of the oceans, atmosphere, and lithosphere. Topics included oceanography and ocean chemistry, the global hydrological and carbon cycle, and climate in the context of geologic time.
