At The Hockey Hut, I split my time between running on-ice training sessions and managing events and day-to-day operations at the facility. On the ice, I lead private, semi-private, and team lessons for players at all levels. I build out development plans based on age and skill, with a focus on skating, puck control, and hockey IQ. I work with kids just starting out all the way up to high-level travel, high school, prep players and college players. Off the ice, I handle the planning and execution of programs and events. One of the highlights has been running our Pond Hockey League, which grew to over 200 participants. I managed everything from registration and scheduling to team/locker room assignments and game operations. I also help run daily facility operations—scheduling, customer service, managing ice time, and making sure everything runs smoothly for staff, players, and families. This role keeps me involved in player development while giving me hands-on experience in sports operations and event management.
I still work here part time as a banquet server on top of my serving job at Lake George Beach Club. At Blue Water Manor I hold a lot of positions such as busser, dock hand, banquet server, dishwasher, food runner and food expediting. This job allows me to experience all aspects of the resort/restaurant has to offer.
