Understanding the Earth, geologic materials, and their response to weathering are passions of mine. I seek to understand the specific orientations and spatial relationships between mineral grains, fracture patterns, and how these influence the breakdown and stability of larger rock bodies. This understanding can be applied to Terrestrial and other planetary bodies to better constrain rates associated with weathering and the emergence of geomorphic features.
