Marathon Board Member of both EG LNG and Atlantic Methanol companies. Business leader providing direction and oversight of Marathon's business interests in Equatorial Guinea. Responsible for corporate relations with Government of Equatorial Guinea and leading local and regional business development activities, including sourcing of new gas supplies. Headed corporate social responsibility initiatives including the development of a vaccine for malaria.
Rejoined EG LNG as Commercial Director, resuming leadership of all commercial activities including procurement, warehousing and national content programs, as well as appointed to several leadership committees. Initiatives included securing backfill gas for LNG Train 1, kick starting the development of a second LNG Train, and renegotiating gas gathering systems and key counterparty agreements to drive growth and profit. Particular achievements include successfully renegotiating contracts with significant impact, leading a favourable outcome during arbitration with a third party and introducing an MBA graduate “business doctor” program.
Broad remit relating to Marathon’s production operations in Africa, and the development and set up of a new business model for Marathon’s assets in Equatorial Guinea, consolidating 2 equity entities with differing shareholders and structures.
Appointed to manage a $1M department budget, all commercial, procurement, logistics and marketing activities and >40 staff. After setting up all procedures, systems, contracts and governance from scratch for a new equity company, led the management of key counterparty relationships and developed EG LNG’s national content program. A member of EG LNG’s executive committee, contracts committee and model contract review board, and associate member of Marathon’s procurement leadership council. Positively influenced the success of the project, delivering the start-up, commissioning and go-live under budget and to schedule.
