In 2015, I was interned with the ministry of agriculture in kapiri district of Central Province. I carried out several duties such as extension work, field and research projects among others. During this period, I worked directly with farmers and companies related to agriculture. My primary role was to aid these groups to make better decisions to increase agricultural production. Being an extension worker who was just coming from school, I was constantly armed with the latest techniques and information related to agriculture and I managed to convey this information to farmers and agricultural businesses in Kapiri district. In addition to my earlier mentioned work responsibilities, I often provided consultation with farmers and agricultural businesses as Kapiri Mposhi is a fast growing farming town and a lot of people of various age groups are emerging as farmers. In these consultations, I would give talks, PowerPoint presentations, guidance and actual demonstration on the latest technologies in the field and on how they can take advantage of such technologies. Furthermore, I also attended seminars where we could work with other experts in agriculture research, marketing, product identification and branding, to learn more and or even develop new methods that could advance the sector.
