About

At AMCOLLECT (https://amcollect.com) we support the importance of debts getting paid and the culture of hard work and integrity being rewarded. As the debt recovery industry gets more difficult we see it as our duty to provide a superior service to smaller businesses by leveraging advances in technology. I have spent the last 20+ years of my career building American Collections Enterprise Inc. and am proud of our accomplishments to date. - We were the smallest agency handling secondary accounts for a large national credit card company and consistently placed in the top third while meeting their ever-changing requirements. - For a national ER client, I created an elaborate flow to automatically route accounts to client services for billing as soon as insurance coverage is verified by our agent. I continue to be very hands on in the creation and implementation of the strategy for recoveries and hold the role of knowledge engineer as it relates to our software and dialer. I am still the “technology and numbers guy” and will always make myself available as a point of contact for all clients and vendors.

Experience

  • President & CEO at AMCOLLECT | American Collections Enterprise inc.
    Sep 2013 - Present · 12 yrs 10 mos

I have been involved with AMCOLLECT since it was founded in 1993 and its CEO since 2013. I had the rare opportunity to work closely with one of the best in the ARM industry for over twenty years, Michael J. Sutherland. Each and every day, my goal is to uphold the values and standards that he instilled in us from the very beginning. Though I am very fortunate to have a very talented management team in place, I am still the “technology and numbers guy”, when necessary, and will always make myself available as a point of contact any of our clients and vendors.

  • American Collections Enterprise, Inc. (15 yrs 7 mos)
    • Senior Vice President of Operations
      May 2005 - Aug 2013 · 8 yrs 4 mos

In 2005, I assumed the role of SVP/Operations where, working closely with the CEO, I was responsible for collections, accounting, data entry and information systems/telephony. I was responsible for the creation and implementation of the strategy for recoveries and began to handle the role of knowledge engineer as it relates to our RMEx collection software and integrated predictive iTel dialer. For a national ER client, I created an elaborate flow to automatically route accounts to client services for billing as soon as insurance is verified by a staff member. That same system was found to be extremely effective in expediting claims submissions and timely payment and continues to be used today.

    • Vice President of Finance and Information Systems
      Feb 1998 - May 2005 · 7 yrs 4 mos

During my early career with AMCOLLECT, I spent 7 years in charge of finance and information systems where I served as the primary contact for all agency clients and vendors, serving as General Manager when needed. I directed the implementation of our first predictive dialer which contributed to increased productivity, gross recoveries and increased marketability of the company. During this time AMCOLLECT was the smallest agency handling secondary accounts for a large national credit card company where we consistently placed in the top third of the agencies being used. Not only did AMCOLLECT perform under my guidance but AMCOLLECT was able to meet or exceed the ever-changing requirements of a national client usually ahead of schedule and in a more timely manner than the larger agencies we competed with.
