Strategic direction and mentorship for developing CDI into a sustainable NGO, and promoting its model for youth-led development and collaboration.
Built an innovative, youth-led NGO from scratch to demonstrate how university students can run impactful initiatives that contribute towards the Global Goals. 300+ students from the UK, Tanzania and around the world have taken part in the CDI volunteering experience since 2014. On the ground, in Dar es Salaam, our projects have achieved the following: - 700+ slum-dwellers have been connected to our affordable sewerage network, reducing the prevalence of cholera and diarrhoea; - 100+ Tanzanian youth have been trained in entrepreneurship skills and design thinking, starting 41 businesses, for which we mobilised nearly 40,000$ seed funding - 12000+ secondary school students benefited from extracurricular activities and life skills programmes
