I’m a senior petroleum geologist with more than two decades of experience exploring, understanding, and unlocking the subsurface. My career has taken me across exploration, development, and new ventures projects, with a particular passion for organic geochemistry and petroleum systems modeling — the detective work that ties a basin’s story together. I’ve built a balanced technical foundation in both carbonate and clastic systems, from early‑stage exploration to hands‑on development drilling. Along the way, I’ve become a competent geochemistry lab operator and an active field geologist, leading numerous field programs across NW Borneo, including modern carbonate analog studies that continue to shape how I approach subsurface interpretation. Mentorship has become a meaningful part of my professional identity. I spend time coaching younger geoscientists and sharing industry perspectives as a guest lecturer at local universities. I enjoy helping others grow, especially when it comes to simplifying complex subsurface problems or revisiting fundamental workflows that often hold the clearest answers. Over the years, I’ve also built a wide network across Malaysia’s oil and gas community — from PETRONAS MPM and PETRONAS Carigali to universities and service providers — relationships that keep me connected, collaborative, and always learning. At my core, I’m driven by curiosity, practicality, and a willingness to explore alternative ways of solving geological challenges. Every basin has a story, and I’ve spent my career learning how to read it.
