With novolto we have created an innovative solution empowering end users to install energy assets in a DIY style and allowing them to consume energy for their hot water production in low price scenarios, most notably when their photovoltaic systems produce more electricity that they require. Instead of feeding the grid, they can convert the electricity into thermal energy for their potable water. In the near future, consumers should be able to leverage such assets, e.g. water heaters, absent ownership of the production assets, e.g. to consume excess energy over the grid that would otherwise be curtailed.
